Technical Translation

ABOUT

A mistranslated torque value or HSE instruction isn't a quality issue — offshore, on a vessel or on a shop floor, it's a safety and compliance risk. Technical translation here means precise, internally consistent documentation: the same component name, the same unit, the same warning phrasing, used identically every time they recur across a specification set, however large.

This service is built for engineers, HSE/QA staff and procurement teams in Oslo's energy, oil & gas, maritime and manufacturing sectors — the part of the local economy that actually runs on documents like these. Source files are often large and specification-heavy; we work from translation memory so a defined term is translated once and applied consistently across the whole set, not re-decided document by document.

PROCESS

How this service works

  1. 01Order — choose your unit and language pair, add to cart.
  2. 02Translate — routed to a specialist in this subject area.
  3. 03Review — an independent second linguist checks it.
  4. 04Deliver — digital by default, stamped hard copy on request.

Send editable source files (Word/Excel rather than a flattened PDF scan) where possible — it keeps formatting and diagrams intact and avoids the poor-source surcharge.

For a document set spanning multiple files, tell us at intake — we build one shared terminology base for the whole set rather than treating each file separately.

FAQ

Service FAQ

Can you keep our internal terminology (e.g. component names) consistent with our existing documents?

Yes — send us any existing glossary or prior translated documents and we build the translation-memory base from those first, so new documents match your existing terminology.

Do you handle diagrams and labelled drawings, not just text?

We translate labelled text within editable diagrams and figures when the source file allows it; flattened images of diagrams are translated as a separate reference list alongside the document.

What if our document set is very large — hundreds of pages?

Order in 500-word blocks as normal, or contact us for a scoped quote on very large sets — we'll tell you honestly whether a fixed per-block price or a project quote suits it better.

Can this be certified for a regulator?

Yes — add certified status at checkout if the receiving regulator requires it; most technical documentation doesn't, but we'll flag it if your case looks like it does.

Documentation your crew can act on without a second read.
