Certified & Sworn Translation
Stamped translations authorities accept
ABOUT
Certified translation carries a formal statement that the translation is a complete and accurate rendering of the source document — the format most Norwegian and foreign authorities ask for by name, even when they don't always mean exactly the same thing by it. Where an authority's stated requirements call for a government-authorised translator, we route your order to a statsautorisert translatør for that language pair; where they don't, an equally rigorous certified-translation process applies without that specific credential attached.
This service is built for people submitting personal documents to an authority: a birth or marriage certificate for UDI or Folkeregisteret, a diploma for a university admissions office, ID or civil-status papers for Skatteetaten or a foreign embassy. If you've been told to get a "certified" translation and aren't sure that's actually the right word for what's being asked, read the certification explainer below before you order — it's free, and it takes two minutes.

PROCESS
How this service works
- 01Order — choose your unit and language pair, add to cart.
- 02Translate — routed to a specialist in this subject area.
- 03Review — an independent second linguist checks it.
- 04Deliver — digital by default, stamped hard copy on request.
Certified orders need a clear scan or photo of the original document — we translate against what's on the page, including stamps and seals.
If your receiving authority requires a statsautorisert translatør, we confirm this at intake so there's no surprise at delivery.

FAQ
Service FAQ
Will UDI or Skatteetaten definitely accept this translation?
We format every certified translation to the receiving authority's stated requirements. No agency can guarantee a third party's decision — but we can tell you exactly what the format includes, and flag it if your specific authority asks for something beyond certification (like an apostille).
Do you hold the statsautorisert translatør title yourselves?
Where a receiving authority's requirements call for a statsautorisert translatør, we route the order to one for that language pair. We describe this as routing, not as a title the agency itself holds.
Can I get a paper copy, not just a PDF?
Yes — add stamped hard-copy delivery at checkout for NOK 129 within Norway or NOK 349 internationally. Digital PDF delivery is free and is the default.
What if my document is in a language you don't list?
Contact us with the language pair — we work across many more pairs than fit in the estimator's default list, and Group B pricing (×1.25) applies to less common pairs.
How fast can I get this if I have a deadline in two days?
Choose express at checkout — NOK 1,790 per standard page, delivered the next working day. If your deadline is sooner than that, contact us before ordering; we'll tell you honestly if it's achievable.
